The ASEAN Digital Art Society or ASEDAS is an movement that brings together artists, artists and painters from ASEAN countries physically and virtually.
The coalition was formed in April 2020 through an online discussion between its founder, Assoc. Prof. Ahamad Tarmizi Azizan (Atan Af) from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Malaysia, who is an academic and digital artist with Dr. Ariesa Pandanwangi from Universitas Kkristen Maharta, Indonesia, who is an academic and chairwoman of the 22nd Indonesian Community in the arts.
In connection with the spread of the COVID 19 outbreak worldwide, the coalition is active through a virtual medium.
Today, the majority of the ASEDAS members are artists from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, including from Poland, Russia, Mexico, Switzerland, and Spain.
Through this collaboration, a project known as the Virtual Digital Arts International Exhibition was organized in 2020 with the theme of COVID 19.
The exhibition organizer has recieve a participation from more than 14 countries worldwide to be selected and exhibited by ASEDAS through virtual media.
